Vacation on Earth

(Sci-Fi/Comedy) A hapless standup comic makes a deal to rent his body out to a visiting alien who has no intention of returning it. The comic has 72 hours to cross the universe and reclaim his body.


Second Place: David Sabbath

53 Hours in Harper's Ferry

(Mystery) Hannah Davenport is having a "good news/bad news" day, finding out the stranger moving into town might be the father she never knew, but also might be a raving killer.


Third Place: Robert M. Prisco

Sitting Rock

(Family/Coming of Age) A young boy bucks family tradition by deciding not to swim in an annual race. His off-beat family, some local bullies, and a very large fish, however, have other plans.

Spirits Along the Wolf, by Jerome V. Schuelke

(Action/Adventure) A party of five trek deep into Indian territory to look for a lost plane. They find a group of suspicious Native Americans and a psychotic bomber from the FBI's "Ten Most Wanted" list.

Malcolm in the Middle, "Waiting Rooom to Hell," by Amy Meredith

Lois is agitated by a trip to the DMV. This causes her to lash out at the rest of the family. The boys are then forced to sell candy bars for Dewey's tee-ball league. This brings them to battle with a Girl Scout.

Law and Order, "Refugee," by Patty Holland Parsi

Detectives Briscoe and Green find two dead bodies washed up on the Hudson shoreline. An investigation leads them to a corrupt cop and a Cuban smuggling ring, resulting in a brother and sister being indicted on a murder charge.

Buffy the Vampire Slayer, "Friends & Enemies," by Steven Piskula

Buffy is forced to examine the importance of friendship and trust when Twin Demons transport the people of Sunnydale into an ancient painting. After being overtaken, Buffy must reunite with her friends inside the work of art and fight the demons long enough to create a spell that returns everything to normal.

Will and Grace, "Whose Kitty Is It, Anyway?" by John Henry Coridan

Grace finds a stray cat. Her apartment building has a pet moratorium. Will, Grace, and Jack compete for ownership. Friendship diminishes as attachment escalates. Grace steps forward when the satanic co-op director finds the feline.
